Turn on web search
In the Copilot app and at copilot.microsoft.com, web search is usually on. You can turn it on or off in the settings.
With a work or school account, your organization decides whether Copilot may search the web. If it is off, Copilot cannot see today’s news.
Ask for sources, not only answers
Copilot shows links next to its answer. Open them. A short answer can leave out who said what, or mix up an old story with a new one.
Ask Copilot to read the news from Newstake. Newstake goes straight to the company, government or researcher who published the news, so Copilot reads the original, not a retelling.
